How to Land that Dream Job
- Arrive no more than 10 minutes early.
- Bring 2 copies of a clean, fully revised resume (or more).
- Dress professionally (clean & pressed).
- Fill out application form completely (remember to bring references).
- Address cover letter and resume to an actual person.
- Be specific on your objective. Say the position that you are applying for.
- Research company before interview (look up website, read articles, ect.).
- Know the clients of the company.
- Research your career and it's salary range. Have your number in mind when you go into the interview. Remember you won't make the big bucks right away.
- Have a list of questions to ask the employer about the company, the position, ect.
- Prepare for frequently asked questions. Know your strengths, weaknesses, and what makes you tick.
- Be prepared to talk about relevant experiences (work, internships, class projects, extra cirricular activities).
- Be alert, have good eye contact, good posture, positive body language, and smile.
- Make your first and last impressions count-they are the most important.
- Always send a Thank You after an interview. Either by email, by mail, or both.
